The Aboriginal Business Participation in Recovery Grants support Aboriginal-owned small businesses and sole traders in Western Australia to participate in the economic recovery following Ex-Tropical Cyclone Ellie and associated flooding. The program funds business support, advisory services, employment support, and equipment/assets to help businesses establish, grow, and contribute to recovery and reconstruction efforts in the Kimberley region.

Cumberland Plain Conservation Plan (CPCP) Caring for Country (Round 2)

The CPCP Caring for Country Aboriginal Business Development Grant supports Aboriginal-owned businesses to build capacity and become tender-ready for opportunities linked to the Cumberland Plain Conservation Plan in Western Sydney. The program aims to promote Aboriginal culture, knowledge, and economic participation, ensuring Aboriginal businesses are well-placed to benefit from CPCP implementation over the next three decades.

WA Local Battery Manufacturing Program: Production Scale-Up

Up to $5 million

The Production Scale-Up Stream is designed to help existing battery manufacturers expand their operations and strengthen Western Australia’s battery energy storage supply chain. This initiative aims to build a more competitive and resilient industry while supporting the State’s transition to a sustainable energy future. Its objectives are to enhance the capability and capacity of manufacturers to produce batteries, improve competitiveness and market share, diversify the manufacturing supply chain, reduce commercial risk and uncertainty, and create new jobs for Western Australians. The expected outcomes include increased local manufacturing of batteries and components, greater industry participation in battery energy storage, and broader economic diversification that underpins Western Australia’s energy transition.

The Local Battery Manufacturing Program: Production-Ready Funding Stream is designed to help businesses carry out essential pre-production activities that pave the way for large-scale battery and component manufacturing in Western Australia. This initiative plays a vital role in strengthening the state’s position in the battery energy storage sector and supporting the growth of a competitive local industry. The program’s objectives are to enhance capacity, capability and competitiveness within the battery energy storage supply chain, reduce barriers to entry for established battery markets and supply chains, and lower the commercial risks and uncertainties often associated with pre-production manufacturing activities. Through these efforts, the expected outcomes include a significant increase in local manufacturing of batteries and components, greater participation in battery energy storage supply chains, and the development of a stronger, more competitive battery industry in Western Australia.
