This policy explains how Avant Group Pty Ltd (ABN 66 166 882 391) (“Avant Group”, “we”, “us”) collects, holds, uses and discloses personal information. It also explains how you can access or correct your information, or make a complaint. It covers our website, , and our dealings with clients, enquirers and newsletter subscribers.
The personal information we collect
When you contact us or make an enquiry, for example through our contact, grant eligibility, assessment or consultation forms, we collect:
- your name, email address and phone number
- your business name, ownership or entity type, industry, and location (suburb, state or territory, postcode)
- business details you choose to give us, such as turnover range, number of employees and planned activities
- whether your company is an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander company. You can choose “Prefer not to answer”
- how you heard about us. If you were referred, this can include the name of the person or business who referred you
- the content of your message and how you prefer to be contacted
When you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your name, email address, company name, state or territory, industry, ownership type and whether your company is an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander company.
When we provide services to you, we collect information needed to deliver the engagement. This can include business, financial and project information, and contact details for people in your organisation.
When you use our website, information about your visit is collected automatically. This includes information about your device and browser, the pages you view and how you arrived at the site. See “Cookies and analytics” below.
How we collect personal information
We usually collect personal information directly from you: through website forms, by email or phone, or in meetings. Sometimes we receive it from someone else, such as a person who referred you to us or a colleague at your organisation. Some information is collected automatically when you use our website.

If you subscribe, we will send you our newsletter with funding opportunities, deadlines and grant tips. You can unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link in any of our emails, or by contacting us using the details below.

A cookie is a small file that a website stores in your browser. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our website so we can manage and improve it. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect information about your visit and shares it with Google.

- service providers who support our business, such as our website host and developer, our client relationship and email system (Microsoft Dynamics 365), and analytics providers
- government agencies and funding bodies, when we prepare or lodge an application on your behalf and with your authority
- our professional advisers, such as lawyers, accountants and insurers
- anyone else where the law requires or authorises it
We do not sell personal information.
Disclosure overseas
We do not disclose the personal information you provide to us to recipients outside Australia. Information that Google Analytics collects about your visit to our website is processed by Google and may be stored and processed outside Australia.
How we hold and protect personal information
We hold personal information in electronic systems, including our website and Microsoft Dynamics 365. We take reasonable steps to protect it from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. When we no longer need personal information and are not required by law to keep it, we take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it.
Dealing with us anonymously
You can browse our website without telling us who you are. Our forms ask for your name and contact details so we can respond to you. If you would prefer not to identify yourself, you can phone us with a general question. To give you specific advice or services, we will need to know who you are.
Accessing, correcting or deleting your information
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by contacting our Privacy Officer. We will respond within 30 days. If we refuse a request, we will tell you why in writing and explain how you can complain. There is no charge to make a request.
You can also ask us to delete your personal information. We will do so where we no longer need it and are not required by law to keep it.
Making a complaint
If you think we have mishandled your personal information, please write to our Privacy Officer using the details below. We will acknowledge your complaint and aim to respond within 30 days.
