The COGGO Research Fund 2027 supports research and development projects that deliver direct benefits to Western Australian grain growers. Funding is awarded through a two‑stage competitive process, beginning with an Expression of Interest (EOI). Projects may receive up to $75,000 per year for a maximum of two years, with total funding capped at $150,000 per project.

Preference is given to projects that qualify as core R&D activities that demonstrate innovation, and offer potential commercial returns or intellectual property outcomes that benefit COGGO and WA grain growers.

Key Requirements

  • Benefit to WA grain growers: Projects must demonstrate clear, practical benefits to Western Australian grain growers, including the likelihood and timing of adoption.
  • Innovation: Proposals must be innovative and involve experimental R&D activities where outcomes cannot be determined in advance.
  • Commercialisation and IP: Applicants must identify potential commercial returns and nominate an appropriate share of intellectual property, royalties or other returns to COGGO.
  • R&D compliance: Preference is given to projects qualifying as core R&D activities under Division 355‑B of the Income Tax Assessment Act 1997.
