Victorian Primary Producer Flood Relief Program
The Victorian Government is supporting flood-affected farmers with financial aid:
- Primary Producer Clean-Up Relief Grants: $10,000 grants to cover the cost of the clean-up and get businesses up and running again
- Primary Producer Transport Subsidies: Up to $15,000 to support the transport of emergency fodder or stock drinking water, and the movement of livestock.
- Primary Producer Concessional Loans: Up to $250,000 to restore or replace damaged equipment and infrastructure, or to cover short-term business expenses.
Victorian Primary Producer Flood Relief Program aims to assist primary producers across Victoria affected by the devastating floods to get back in business, with an initial package of support to help kickstart their relief effort.
Key Requirements
The applicant will need to submit the following documentation with the completed application for Victoria Primary Producer Flood Clean Up and Relief Grant and/or Victorian Primary Producer Flood Recovery Transport Support Program.
- Proof of property location i.e., copy of latest Council Rates, lease, or share farming contract.
- Supporting documents such as photographs (jpeg format) or a description of direct flood impacts.
- Latest available Tax return and full Financial Statement for your primary production business.
- Proof of ID such as a Driver’s Licence.
The applicant applying for Victorian Primary Producer Flood Recovery Concessional Loans will need to complete an Expression of Interest Form along with the following supporting documents:
- Proof of property location i.e., copy of latest Council Rates, lease, or share farming contract.
- Evidence of direct damage/loss of income eg. quotes, invoices, lost earnings, BAS statements and photos of direct flood damage
- Past 3 years’ financial statements and personal tax returns for yourselves and your primary production business and a copy of your ATO Portal
- Cash flow budget (including assumptions) for the present financial year and next financial year
- Statement of assets and liabilities
- Proof of identify documents (100 points)
You may be asked to provide further information so that we can better understand your historical performance and capacity to repay the loan under responsible lending practices.
Following assessment based on the completion of the Expression of Interest Form, eligible applicants will then need to complete a Concessional Lending Application Form to be signed by all individuals associated with the primary production enterprise.
What is eligible for funding?
The Victoria Primary Producer Flood Clean Up and Relief Grant is a payment of up to $10,000 to primary producers directly affected by the floods to help them clean up, re-establish their properties, and get their businesses up and running again.
This grant covers activities like the removal and disposal of debris and injured or dead livestock, replacing or repairing essential equipment, fixing and replacing fencing, buying fodder, water and water storage, salvaging damaged crops, grain or feed, and hiring or purchasing materials to clean up a property or equipment.
Victorian Primary Producer Flood Recovery Transport Support Program: If you own stock and require transport of emergency fodder or stock drinking water, and moving stock to agistment, sale or slaughter you may be eligible to claim 50 per cent of transport costs, up to $15,000.
To claim this support, you can use the same application form as the Flood Clean Up and Relief Grant and will also need to submit evidence of paid tax invoices from a registered carrier, or vehicle registration and logbook entries if you are an owner-driver.
Victorian Primary Producer Flood Recovery Concessional Loans: Primary producers whose properties have been directly hit are also eligible to apply for concessional loans of up to $250,000 to restore or replace damaged assets, and meet general expenses incurred while the clean-up is underway.
