- Minimum 35% cash co-contribution required
- Activities must be completed by 30 April 2028
- Stream C – Military Tourism Experience Enhancements
- Grants of up to $40,000
- No co-contribution required
- Activities must be completed by 30 April 2027
- Applications close May 7th 2026
The NT Experience Fund supports the growth and diversification of the Northern Territory’s tourism sector by funding the development of new and enhanced visitor experiences. The program is designed to strengthen the Territory’s value proposition by encouraging innovative, bookable tourism products that showcase the NT’s landscapes, stories and cultural richness.
Funding is offered across three streams targeting single-year projects, multi-year complex developments, and military tourism experience enhancements. Priority is given to projects that support adventure tourism, cultural tourism, food and drink experiences, night-time offerings, military tourism and other high-value visitor segments.
Key Requirements
- Development of new tourism products or experiences Applicants must clearly demonstrate how their project delivers a new or enhanced tourism experience that meets identified visitor needs and contributes to the diversification of the NT tourism offering.
- Alignment with strategic priorities Projects must align with the NT Visitor Economy Strategy 2032 and, where relevant, the Military Heritage Tourism Action Plan.
- Project readiness and feasibility Applicants must provide a clear project plan, realistic delivery timeline, supporting quotes and evidence of capacity to deliver the project within the funding period.
- Industry and Territory engagement Applicants must engage Northern Territory-based suppliers and be members of a recognised NT tourism industry peak body.
What is eligible for funding?
- Construction of new purpose-built facilities directly linked to a new tourism product or experience
- Development of virtual reality experiences or self-guided tours
- Purchase of portable assets directly linked to the visitor experience (up to 25% of total grant value)
- Infrastructure upgrades that enhance military tourism visitor experiences
- Development of new or enhanced military tourism products
- Implementation of technology that improves the on-ground visitor experience
What companies are eligible for funding?
Eligible applicants must:
- Be a Territory enterprise with a registered ABN
- Be a member of a relevant NT tourism peak body
- Deliver a bookable tourism product or experience
- Hold or obtain an active ATDW listing on acquittal
Is this grant competitive or entitlement based?
Competitive. Your application will be assessed among other applications by a judging panel.
