TAS Advanced Manufacturing Productivity Grant Program

  • Grants range from a minimum of $1,500 to a maximum of $20,000 per project. The program offers up to 50% funding of project costs, with applicants required to match at least 50% of the costs.
  • Total funding pool: $400,000 for the 2025–26 financial year.
  • The program is open until 30 June 2026, or earlier if funds are exhausted.

The Advanced Manufacturing Productivity Grant Program supports Tasmanian-based advanced manufacturing enterprises by funding productivity-enhancing activities. These include obtaining accreditations, expert advice, and developing staff and business skills, as part of the Tasmanian Government’s Advanced Manufacturing Action Plan 2028.

What is eligible for funding?

Funding covers up to 50% of approved project costs for:

  • Business improvement:
    • Lean manufacturing, change management, supply chain efficiency.
    • Sustainability benchmarking and carbon/waste reduction.
    • Strategic, governance, and succession planning.
  • Quality assurance:
    • Industry accreditations (e.g. ISO9001, ISO14001, HACCP, ISO13485).
  • Unaccredited training:
    • Product-specific, safety awareness, and short courses linked to growth opportunities.

What companies are eligible for funding?

Applicants must:

  • Be a Tasmanian-based advanced manufacturing enterprise or a high-tech business supporting manufacturing inputs e.g. software or component development
  • Have an ABN and be registered for GST.
  • Have a manufacturing sales turnover between $500,000 and $55 million in at least one of the last two financial years.
  • Not be a consultant, intermediary, or under legal disability.
  • Primarily manufacture in Tasmania.
  • Not exceed $40,000 in total grant funding per financial year under this program.

Is this grant competitive or entitlement based?

Demand Driven – Grants are awarded to eligible applicants in the order applications are received until funding is fully allocated.
