TAS 2026 Workforce Participation and Training Program
- Total program funding of $2,000,000 is available.
- Maximum funding is $200,000 per project per annum.
- Matched funding or in-kind contributions are permitted but not mandatory.
- Projects are expected to run for 12 to 24 months.
- Applications close 18 June 2026.
The 2026 Workforce Participation and Training Program supports initiatives that improve workforce participation outcomes for Tasmanians who are underrepresented in employment and training. The program funds projects that address barriers to engagement in education training and employment and support pathways into sustainable work. Funded activities focus on increasing participation in training that leads to improved work readiness and employment outcomes while strengthening collaboration between community organisations training providers and employers.
Projects must clearly demonstrate how proposed activities respond to identified barriers faced by specific cohorts and how outcomes will be achieved and measured. Funding is available for organisations to deliver place based and cohort focused initiatives across Tasmania that support inclusive workforce participation and long-term labour market connection.

- Increase participation of underrepresented Tasmanians in training and employment pathways.
- Address identified vocational and non vocational barriers to workforce participation for targeted cohorts.
- Deliver services that improve work readiness learning readiness and employment outcomes.
- Demonstrate collaboration with employers training providers and community partners.
- Deliver measurable outcomes aligned to employment participation pathways.
What is eligible for funding?
- Supported work readiness and foundation skills activities.
- Entry level and non nationally recognised training.
- Supported work exposure work placement and employment trials.
- Services that trial new approaches to support access to training or employment pathways.
- Participant support activities such as transport childcare or engagement supports directly related to delivery.
- Project staffing and coordination directly related to delivery.
What companies are eligible for funding?
- Community service or not for profit organisations.
- Charities registered with the Australian Charities and Not for profits Commission.
- Community based associations and clubs.
- Businesses and employers including Group Training Organisations.
- Regional Jobs Hubs.
- Eligible Registered Training Organisations or Tasmanian vocational education suppliers.
- Applicants must be financially viable hold appropriate insurance and have child and youth safety arrangements in place.
Is this grant competitive or entitlement based?
Competitive. Your application will be assessed among other applications by a judging panel.
