The grants are part of the Queensland Government's Secure Communities Partnership Program, run by the Department of Customer Services, Open Data and Small and Family Business (CDSB). Businesses wanting security for their own premises only should apply for Small Business Security Grants instead.

What companies are eligible for funding?
- Eligible Queensland small businesses leading a shared project
- Commercial property owners, lessors, body corporates, trustees, property-holding entities and property managers with authority over the site
Queensland and Australian Government departments and agencies can’t apply. Local governments are also excluded, except separately constituted council-owned entities that carry out commercial activities.
