Music Victoria – Live Music Festivals Fund (Round 3)

- Up to $47,000 for core festival costs

The Live Music Festivals Fund supports the sustainability of Victoria’s contemporary live music festival sector. Delivered by Music Victoria on behalf of the Victorian Government, the fund focuses on small‑to‑medium festivals, helping festivals remain viable while providing paid opportunities for artists and work for creative and event professionals.
Key Requirements
- Applicants must demonstrate delivery of at least two ticketed live music festivals or events in Victoria within the past five years, each with:

- In‑person capacity over 1,000
- A ticket price greater than $0
- A revenue‑generating model
- Festivals must take place in Victoria between 1 July 2026 and 30 June 2027
- Festivals must predominantly feature original live music
- All musicians must be paid at least $250 per person
What is eligible for funding?
Eligible applicants may include:
- Festival promoters
- Not‑for‑profit organisations
- Artists or bands
- Music industry businesses and organisations
Funding can be used for:
- Artists
- Production
- Marketing
- Operations
- Travel
- Accessibility initiatives
Funding will not support festivals that:
- Are not staged in Victoria
- Are not ticketed or do not have capacity for at least 1,000 attendees
- Are private events, competitions, awards or similar
- Are auspiced events
- Are primarily for persuasion or conversion
What companies are eligible for funding?
Applications must be submitted by the festival organiser that holds the rights to deliver the festival. Auspicing bodies and government entities (state or local) are not eligible.
Applicants must not have overdue acquittals with Creative Victoria or Music Victoria.
Is this grant competitive or entitlement based?
Competitive. Your application will be assessed among other applications by a judging panel.
