LGBTIQA+ Health Program – Round 1

  • Grants up to $750K
  • Activities are expected to run from mid-2026 to 30 June 2028.
  • Applications open until April 13th, 2026

The LGBTIQA+ Health Program (LHP) is an open competitive grants program that supports the delivery of new or expanded LGBTIQA+ health and wellbeing services.

The program prioritises LGBTIQA+ community‑led organisations, while also supporting eligible generalist organisations that demonstrate genuine partnerships with LGBTIQA+ community‑led services. Funding is intended to improve access to safe, culturally appropriate, inclusive and trauma‑informed health services at local, regional and national levels.

Round 1 funding is available through two streams, determined by an organisation’s average annual revenue over the past three financial years. Stream 1 supports advancing organisations with smaller revenue bases, while Stream 2 supports medium‑to‑large organisations with established governance and delivery capability.

Funded activities must address Focus Areas 2 and/or 3 of the National Action Plan for the Health and Wellbeing of LGBTIQA+ People 2025–2035 with a strong emphasis on preventive health, health literacy, and improving accessibility and safety of healthcare services for LGBTIQA+ communities.

Key Requirements

  • Support LGBTIQA+ community‑led organisations to deliver or expand culturally safe and inclusive health and wellbeing services aligned to the National Action Plan.
  • Strengthen preventive health and health literacy, including early intervention and protective health factors for LGBTIQA+ communities.
  • Improve accessibility, availability and safety of healthcare services, particularly for priority sub‑populations such as First Nations people, people with disability, and those in regional or remote areas.
  • Demonstrate organisational capability and partnerships, including governance, financial controls, risk management and community engagement.
