The IRGP – Australia‑Korea Foundation (AKF) grant supports projects that strengthen engagement between Australia and the Republic of Korea. Funding supports initiatives that build collaboration, exchange and long‑term people‑to‑people links across priority bilateral areas.
Key Requirements
- Projects must align with Australia‑Korea Foundation objectives and priority areas
- A co‑contribution is required and must be clearly demonstrated
- Projects must commence after the grant agreement is executed
- Activities must be delivered in approved locations and timeframes
What is eligible for funding?
Eligible activities include:
- Innovation, research and knowledge‑exchange projects
- Marketing and engagement initiatives that strengthen Australia‑Korea relations
- Activities aligned to cultural, economic, educational or strategic cooperation priorities
Funding cannot be used for:
- Activities that are primarily commercial in nature
- Costs incurred prior to grant approval
- Activities that fall outside the Australia‑Korea Foundation guidelines
What companies are eligible for funding?
Eligible applicants include:
- Individuals
- Australian organisations with an ABN or ACN
- Korean organisations
- Community, business, academic and government‑related entities
Is this grant competitive or entitlement based?
Competitive. Your application will be assessed among other applications by a judging panel.
How can I increase my chances of winning this grant?
By engaging an accredited government grants consultant, such as Avant Group.
Competitive grants often require significant business case development and project analysis to support the application, this may include detailed presentations supporting the project’s merit, projected sales, cost-benefit analysis and more.

- CAPEX (Capital Expenditure) cost-benefit analysis
- Stakeholder relations and Risk Mitigation Plans
- Any other relevant forecasting that will support your application
