Forestry Industry Supply Chain Support Program

The Forestry Industry Supply Chain Support Program provides financial assistance to NSW businesses impacted by changes to hardwood timber supply following the commencement of the Moratorium on Harvesting in the NSW North Coast Forestry Industry. Funding helps businesses offset increased supply costs and freight expenses associated with sourcing alternative timber or by‑product materials.
Key Requirements
- Applicants must be impacted forestry supply chain businesses
- Businesses must source at least 50% of hardwood or by‑products from affected sawmills or contractors
- Funding must relate to additional costs incurred due to reduced timber supply
What is eligible for funding?
Eligible applicants must be:
- An impacted business that directly or indirectly sourced hardwood or by‑products from affected NSW sawmills or contractors
- Able to demonstrate reduced timber supply as a result of the harvesting moratorium
Funding can be used for:
- Incremental increases in timber or by‑product purchase costs from alternative suppliers
- Freight costs associated with sourcing alternative supply
Funding cannot be used for:
- Salaries and wages
- General operating costs
- Training or travel
- Capital or infrastructure works
- Retrospective expenditure
What companies are eligible for funding?
Eligible applicants are NSW‑based businesses, trusts or companies that form part of the forestry supply chain and can demonstrate measurable impact from reduced hardwood supply following the NSW harvesting moratorium.
Is this grant competitive or entitlement based?
Competitive. Your application will be assessed among other applications by a judging panel.
How can I increase my chances of winning this grant?
