CreateSA Touring Support

Maximum funding: Up to $50,000 per application.

Touring Support assists funded South Australian arts organisations to expand markets through regional, national and international touring. The program supports opportunities that extend audiences and the life of established South Australian works across all art forms. Funding may support one-off presentations away from an organisation’s home base, tours involving multiple venues, virtual presentation opportunities and new models for more sustainable presentation that reduce carbon emissions. The work must already have premiered, been exhibited or otherwise been presented. Funding can contribute to tour-related artist fees, touring costs, tour coordination and development costs associated with sustainable touring, carbon reduction or virtual presentation. The program is open only to funded small-to-medium and major organisations.

Key Requirements

Market expansion: Support funded arts organisations to expand their markets through regional, national and international touring.
Audience development: Extend audiences and increase the life of established South Australian artistic works.
Established work: The proposed work must have already premiered, been exhibited or otherwise been presented.
Eligible touring model: Activity may include a one-off presentation away from the applicant’s home base or a tour involving multiple venues.
Virtual presentation: Applicants may develop or implement virtual opportunities and avenues for presenting established work.
Sustainable presentation: Applicants may develop or implement presentation models that reduce carbon emissions.
Project planning: Applications must explain the activity dates and stages, the funded activity period, and how and where the activity will be delivered.
Protocols: Project proposals must explain how applicable Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, Working with Children in Art and COVID-19 protocols will be followed.
Supporting evidence: Applications must include letters of support and confirmations of activity.
Budget evidence: Applicants must provide a detailed project budget, budget notes and quotes supporting major expenses.
Support material: Applicants must provide relevant support material demonstrating the quality and viability of the proposed activity

Tour-related artist fees.
Regional, interstate and international net touring costs.
Freight and transport costs.
Visa costs.
Accommodation and travel allowances incurred outside the applicant’s home base.
Contributions towards tour coordination expenses.
One-off presentations away from the applicant’s home base.
Tours involving presentations at more than one venue.
Development and implementation of virtual presentation opportunities for established work.
Development and implementation of sustainable touring and presentation models.
Development costs associated with carbon reduction.
Development costs associated with the virtual presentation of established work, whether monetised or not.

What companies are eligible for funding?

CreateSA-funded small-to-medium organisations.
CreateSA-funded major organisations.

The program is open to funded organisations only. Individual independent artists, artist groups and businesses that are not funded organisations are not identified as eligible applicants on the provided program page.

Applicants must propose the touring or translation of established work that has already premiered, been exhibited or otherwise been presented.

Is this grant competitive or entitlement based?

Competitive. Your application will be assessed among other applications by a judging panel.
