The Ansvar Community Education Program provides grants to support sustainable education and life skills development initiatives for disadvantaged Australians under 25 years of age. Since 1994, the program has funded charities and not-for-profit organisations delivering youth development, education and support programs.

Key Requirements

  • Applicant must be an Australian not-for-profit organisation with Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status.
  • Programs must directly benefit young Australians under 25 years of age.
  • Projects must demonstrate measurable community benefit and long-term sustainability.
  • Funding is intended for programs that create lasting outcomes rather than one-off activities.
  • Applicants should demonstrate organisational capability, governance and financial sustainability.

What is eligible for funding?

Projects must align with one of the following funding categories:

Empowerment and Education

Programs that help young people:

  • Increase engagement with education and learning
  • Build life skills and personal development
  • Develop confidence, resilience and leadership capability
  • Improve employment readiness and future opportunities
  • Make positive life choices and strengthen community participation

Outreach and Support

Programs that provide:

  • Early intervention and support for disadvantaged or at-risk young people
  • Rehabilitation and recovery assistance
  • Mentoring and guidance programs
  • Social inclusion initiatives
  • Community outreach activities that improve wellbeing and life outcomes
  • Programs supporting vulnerable young people experiencing disadvantage or social barriers

Is this grant competitive or entitlement based?

Competitive. Your application will be assessed among other applications by a judging panel.
