ACT Vocational Education and Training (VET) Completions Grants Program

The ACT VET Completions Grants Program aims to support eligible VET providers, employers and community organisations to deliver targeted, learner‑centred supports that improve training completion and transition into sustainable employment, particularly for priority learner groups across the ACT.
Key Requirements
- Projects must support completion of accredited VET qualifications, skill sets or courses.
- Projects must focus on priority learner groups, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, women, people with disability, young people, people experiencing long‑term unemployment, CALD communities and mature‑age learners.
- Projects must demonstrate value for money, genuine partnerships and alignment with ACT skills priorities.
- Applicants must disclose any other ACT or Australian Government funding contributing to the project.
- Partnership contributions (financial and/or in‑kind) are encouraged and strengthen applications.
What is eligible for funding?
- Currently enrolled VET learners (including apprentices and trainees) to remain engaged and complete training
- Prospective VET learners to increase the likelihood of successful completion once enrolled
- System‑level improvements that strengthen tools, supports and effectiveness of the VET system
- Tailored learner supports addressing personal, academic, cultural, accessibility, wellbeing or logistical barriers
- Culturally safe, community‑led supports for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander learners, including ACCO‑delivered initiatives
- Employer engagement initiatives to strengthen mentoring, supervision and inclusive workplace practices
- Career guidance, mentoring, workplace exposure and wrap‑around transition supports
- Proactive outreach, re‑engagement and transition support for learners at risk of non‑completion

- Education and training providers, including Registered Training Organisations (RTOs)
- Group training organisations

- Aboriginal Community‑Controlled Organisations (ACCOs)
- ACCOs and First Nations Owned (FNO) RTOs
Is this grant competitive or entitlement based?
Competitive. Your application will be assessed among other applications by a judging panel.
How can I increase my chances of winning this grant?
