PanKind has launched its 12th annual 2026 Pankind Competitive Grant Round to fund Australian pancreatic cancer research across two priority areas, Early Detection and New Treatments. The round offers three categories: the Early Detection Accelerator Grant ($300,000 over 2 years), the New Treatment Innovation Grant ($100,000 over 1 year), and the New Treatment Accelerator Grant ($300,000 over 2 years).

Key Requirements

  • Alignment to the round’s focus areas: Projects must address Early Detection or New Treatments for pancreatic cancer, with applications submitted under the relevant grant category.
  • Project maturity expectations (category-dependent): Accelerator categories are intended for developed projects beyond proof-of-concept, with clear advancement toward clinical application.
  • Funding overlap transparency: Applicants must disclose any potential overlap with other current or pending research funding.
  • Eligibility controls on submissions: Only one application per institution may be submitted for each scheme, and a Principal Investigator may be named on no more than one application across all categories in the same round.
  • Australia-based delivery: The Principal Investigator must be based in Australia and the administering institution must be an Australian organisation.
  • Governance for human materials or data: Where human biospecimens or data are involved, a supporting letter from an appropriate and accessible repository or collection is required at application, and ethics and governance status and pathways must be clearly outlined

  • Progress developed new treatment projects to accelerate translation to a clinical stage, including extending or scaling existing work and advancing critical milestones

What companies are eligible for funding?
