The Sector Impact Program is an invitation-only funding program for institutions, organisations and businesses that demonstrate industry leadership, strong engagement and significant impact within the NSW screen and digital games sectors.

Screen NSW invites organisations with a proven track record of delivering innovative, high-quality and sustainable industry activities to apply. Eligible activities include conferences, labs and other initiatives that support ongoing industry development and strengthen the screen and digital games ecosystem.

The program supports significant engagement activities for practitioners, builds sector capacity, supports professional development and networking, creates sustainable relationship building opportunities between organisations of state significance and industry practitioners, and promotes meaningful collaboration across the sector.

Screen NSW prioritises activities that increase industry participation and create opportunities for people from NSW Government key priority areas, including Regional NSW, Western Sydney, First Nations people, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, people living with disability, and LGBTQIA+ people.

Key Requirements

Applicant requirements

  • Must be invited by Screen NSW to make an application
  • Must hold an Australian Business Number
  • Must be legally able to enter into an agreement with Screen NSW
  • Must adhere to general eligibility requirements under the Screen NSW Terms of Trade
  • Must not have unacquitted previous funding or be in breach of any Screen NSW funding obligations

Activity requirements

  • Must be well planned and of high artistic quality or strategic importance to the NSW screen or digital games sector
  • Must represent significant benefits to NSW screen or digital games practitioners
  • Must contribute to the stability and growth of the sector
  • Must represent value for money and efficient use of Screen NSW funding
  • Must have adequate financial or in-kind support from other funding sources
  • Must increase industry participation for practitioners from NSW Government key priority areas
  • Must be designed and delivered by an organisation with demonstrable industry experience

Location requirements

  • Where an applicant is located outside NSW, the activity must be delivered in NSW or have a direct and strong benefit for NSW screen or digital games practitioners

First Nations requirements

  • Activities involving First Nations content or people are ineligible without evidence of appropriate First Nations consultation and participation
  • Proposals involving the First Nations arts and cultural sector must include letters of support and confirmation of involvement from relevant communities or organisations

Multi-Year requirements

  • Must have successfully received and acquitted Screen NSW funding in three of the last five years
  • Must demonstrate an outstanding track record delivering related activities of scale
  • Must have a proven impact on the NSW screen or digital games sector
  • Must provide evidence of organisational stability, leadership continuity and succession planning

What is eligible for funding?

Funding supports industry development activities that strengthen the NSW screen and digital games ecosystem, including conferences, labs and other initiatives delivering ongoing sector development.

Eligible proposals should respond to a clearly identified gap, challenge or opportunity within the sector, represent innovation in industry development, engagement, capability building or sector collaboration, deliver measurable industry outcomes, and be scalable, repeatable or capable of generating industry benefits beyond the funding period.

What companies are eligible for funding?

The program is open to invited institutions, organisations and businesses that demonstrate industry leadership, strong engagement and significant impact within the NSW screen and digital games sectors.

Select applicants are invited to apply following a meeting with Screen NSW staff and submission of a high-level written Expression of Interest. Potential applicants should contact Screen NSW to schedule a meeting to discuss eligibility and the EOI process.
