The National Integrity Capability Enhancement (NICE) Grant Program supports eligible sporting organisations to increase sport integrity capability by embedding the National Integrity Framework (NIF) at all levels of their sport.

Administered by the Australian Sports Commission with subject matter expertise from Sport Integrity Australia, the program strengthens the capacity of organisations to identify, prevent and respond to integrity threats and foster safe, fair and inclusive sporting environments.

Funded organisations are expected to establish or maintain a National Integrity Manager role within their organisation, responsible for implementing the NIF and educating participants at all levels on Framework policies. The program also provides support through the NIM Network alongside resources including policy fact sheets, eLearning courses, staff information packs, training courses and promotional materials.

Key Requirements

This is a targeted, competitive grant program. Only organisations invited by the ASC and meeting all eligibility criteria may apply.

Organisations must have adopted the NIF and maintain that adoption for the duration of the grant period, and must comply with the National Gender Equity in Sport Governance Policy including meeting all applicable requirements and implementation timelines.

Applicants must not be named by the National Redress Scheme for Institutional Child Sexual Abuse as an institution that has failed to join, or has been declared unable to participate in, the Scheme.

Applications proposing shared arrangements between two or more eligible organisations must nominate a lead organisation to enter the Grant Agreement, identify all participating organisations, describe governance and oversight arrangements, and provide evidence that all participating organisations support the arrangement.

Applicants must declare any actual, potential or perceived conflict of interest, particularly where a person involved in preparing or approving the application could benefit from the proposed use of grant funding.

What is eligible for funding?

Eligible organisations can apply for funding to increase sport integrity capability and assist the sport to embed the NIF at all levels.

Successful applicants are expected to:

  • Enhance integrity capability to assist with implementation of the NIF
  • Establish or maintain the National Integrity Manager role within their organisation
  • Deliver integrity education to participants at all levels on Framework policies
  • Strengthen leadership, governance and organisational commitment to integrity
  • Build sustainable integrity capability that continues beyond the grant period

What companies are eligible for funding?

To be eligible, an organisation must be a National Sporting Organisation or National Sporting Organisation for People with Disability recognised by the ASC, or one of the following invited organisations:

  • Australian Sports Association for People with Disability (ASAPD)
  • Combat Institute of Australia
  • Olympic Winter Institute of Australia (OWIA)

Organisations must have adopted the NIF, comply with the National Gender Equity in Sport Governance Policy, and not be named by the National Redress Scheme as failing to join or being unable to participate.

Any organisation not invited by the ASC to apply for this targeted, competitive grant program is not eligible.
