Worker Grant

The Worker and Employer Advisory Services Grants will establish independent advisory services that help workers and employers better understand and navigate the NSW workers compensation system, including the reforms introduced during 2026. The program is designed to provide free, independent and credible guidance that supports informed decision-making, early intervention, recovery and return-to-work outcomes.

The initiative aims to improve stakeholder knowledge, strengthen confidence in the workers compensation scheme and support fair participation by both workers and employers.

Key Requirements

Applicants must establish and deliver independent advisory services tailored specifically to either workers or employers participating in the NSW workers compensation scheme.

Applicants must:

  • Operate in NSW.
  • Be a legally constituted Australian entity.
  • Have a physical office and directly employed staff located in NSW.
  • Hold a current NSW Workers Compensation Insurance policy issued by the Nominal Insurer.
  • Hold public liability insurance with a minimum value of $20 million.
  • Operate on a not-for-profit basis.
  • Submit a detailed service delivery proposal and three-year budget.

What is eligible for funding?

Funding supports the establishment and delivery of independent advisory services that:

  • Help workers understand and navigate workers compensation claims.
  • Help employers understand obligations and scheme requirements.
  • Improve understanding of injury management and return-to-work processes.
  • Support informed participation in the NSW workers compensation scheme.
  • Increase confidence and trust in scheme operations.
  • Improve education and awareness of the 2026 workers compensation reforms.

What companies are eligible for funding?

Eligible applicants include:

  • Industry associations.
  • Unions.
  • Registered charities.
  • Employee or employer representative bodies.
  • Incorporated associations.
  • Legally constituted not-for-profit organisations operating in NSW.

Applicants must demonstrate capability to independently represent workers or employers and deliver advisory services at scale.
