2027 NSW Women’s Week Grants

Total funding budget: $350,000.
Funding available per applicant: $10,000 to $50,000.
Matched funding or co-contribution: applicants must provide a cash or in-kind co-contribution of at least 10% of the total funding sought.
Activities are expected to run from 02 March 2027 to 08 March 2027.

2027 NSW Women’s Week Grants fund events held during NSW Women’s Week that advance gender equality across NSW. In 2027, NSW Women’s Week will run from 02 March 2027 to 08 March 2027, aligning with International Women’s Day. The program supports eligible organisations to deliver events that increase the empowerment and participation of women and girls, celebrate and strengthen focus communities, and challenge gender stereotypes, roles and expectations.

Events must be designed with and for one of the focus communities in the NSW Women’s Strategy 2023-2026, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and girls, carers, young women, women with disability, women from culturally and linguistically diverse communities, women experiencing socioeconomic disadvantage, and women living in regional, rural, remote and cross-border areas. Grants of $10,000 to $50,000 are available

Key Requirements

Advance gender equality: Events must support the empowerment and participation of women and girls, celebrate and strengthen focus communities, and challenge gender stereotypes, roles and expectations.
Align with strategic priorities: Events must align with at least one of the three pillars of the NSW Women’s Strategy 2023-2026, being economic opportunity and advancement, health and wellbeing, or participation and empowerment.
Support focus communities: Events should be designed with and for one of the identified focus communities, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and girls, carers, young women, women with disability, women facing homelessness, women experiencing socioeconomic disadvantage, and other listed communities
Deliver events during NSW Women’s Week: Events must start on or after 02 March 2027 and finish by 08 March 2027.
Demonstrate community connection and capacity: Applicants should show strong links to their focus community, evidence of why the event is needed, and experience delivering similar inclusive events.
Provide value for money: Applications should show clear benefits for participants, a cost-effective budget, and co-contributions of at least 10% of funding requested.
Prioritise inclusive delivery: Events that are free or low cost, original, interactive, educational, enjoyable and accessible will be viewed more favourably.

What is eligible for funding?

Events and activities held during NSW Women’s Week that advance gender equality.
Event delivery costs directly related to the approved activity.
Resource materials and publication costs, including art supplies and workbooks.
Equipment, transport and venue hire.
Publicity, communications and marketing activities and materials, including photography and videography.
Catering costs, including food and non-alcoholic beverages for community engagement activities.
Staff, contractors and consultants, where costs are for direct event delivery only.
Guest speaker, performer, artist or coach fees.
Travel costs within NSW exclusively for the purpose of the event.
Evaluation activities.

What companies are eligible for funding?

Australian-based incorporated legal entities.
Not-for-profit organisations.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community-Controlled Organisations.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander corporations.
Applicants must have an active ABN.
Applicants must hold or be willing to obtain public liability insurance of at least $10 million if successful.
Applicants must have an account with an Australian authorised deposit-taking institution.
Applicants must include a cash or in-kind co-contribution of at least 10% of the total funding sought.
Applicants must be based in NSW, unless they can demonstrate the project will be run in and for the benefit of women and girls in NSW and that the organisation meets all regulatory and business requirements.
Companies or businesses can only apply if they are structured as an eligible not-for-profit organisation, ACCO, or Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander corporation

Is this grant competitive or entitlement based?

Competitive. Your application will be assessed among other applications by a judging panel.
