EV Fleets Incentive Kick-start funding FY26 is a New South Wales incentive program designed to help eligible organisations start or accelerate fleet electrification by procuring battery electric vehicles and optional smart charging infrastructure. It supports smaller fleets and organisations wanting to pilot a few battery electric vehicles before undertaking a larger transition.

Funding is available for up to 15 battery electric vehicles and associated smart charging ports across all funding rounds and allocations. Eligible applicants can receive fixed incentives for new battery electric vehicles and can also opt in for support toward the purchase and installation of smart chargers. The program aims to accelerate battery electric vehicle uptake in New South Wales fleets, support sustainable transport solutions, reduce emissions, promote long term fleet electrification and encourage take up of smart charging infrastructure. The FY26 allocation is open on a first come, first served basis and remains open until funds are exhausted or the closing date is reached.

Key Requirements

  • Accelerate battery electric vehicle uptake in New South Wales fleets. The program is intended to help eligible organisations transition their fleets to cleaner, low emission technology by reducing the upfront cost barrier for eligible battery electric vehicles and optional smart charging infrastructure. It is specifically positioned for smaller fleets and organisations that want to pilot a few battery electric vehicles before scaling further.
  • Support long term fleet transition and charging readiness. The program supports not only the procurement of eligible battery electric vehicles, but also smart charging equipment installed at organisational premises or at employees’ homes, helping applicants develop practical charging capability as part of their electrification journey.
  • Strengthen emissions reduction outcomes and the future used EV market. The incentive is designed to accelerate fleet electrification, support the development of a stronger secondary market for battery electric vehicles, and contribute to transport emissions reduction in New South Wales.
  • Maintain compliance and program integrity. Applicants must meet eligibility criteria at the time of application, continue to meet them while operating the incentivised vehicles, declare financial capability to complete the purchases within program timeframes, and avoid double funding for the same vehicles or chargers from other government sources.
