The MyState Foundation is offering two community partnerships for the 2026 round: the Education Partnership and the Social Connection Partnership. Partnerships provide 2 years of funding for a youth-focused program aligned to either education or social connection, with funding of up to $100,000 over two years.
The Education Partnership supports initiatives that help Tasmanian youth through education to obtain meaningful employment. The Social Connection Partnership supports initiatives that help Tasmanian youth build strong, meaningful connections with others and their wider community to improve wellbeing.
Key Requirements
- Program alignment: The proposed program/initiative must align with the Foundation’s purpose, vision and mission, and focus on disadvantaged youth.
- Partnership focus area: The initiative must clearly address education or social connection as the partnership pillar.
- Need for funds: The Board considers whether the funds are necessary for the partnership to proceed.
- Demonstrated impact: Applications are assessed on the ability of the partnership to make a real difference and the applicant’s ability to successfully carry out the initiative over 2 years.
- Preference considerations: Preference may be given where the program benefits as many young people as possible in Tasmania, retains funds in Tasmania, has measurable long-term benefit and achievable goals, meets an identifiable community need, increases youth capabilities, encourages learning and education opportunities, builds self-reliance/confidence/responsibility, improves health and wellbeing outcomes, supports disadvantaged and at-risk youth, and offers unique opportunities not provided elsewhere.
- Grant conditions (if successful): Successful recipients must sign terms and conditions, provide a satisfactory project acquittal statement by 30 June for each year of the partnership (2026 and 2027), acknowledge MyState Foundation support, be available for media, outline employee volunteering opportunities for MyState staff, and may be listed/featured on MyState channels
