Security Uplift for Muslim Communities in Australia Program
- Grants between $5,000 and $150,000, exclusive of GST
- Total funding pool of $25 million available over three years
- Funding is provided for projects delivered within the 2026 to 27 financial year
- Expressions of Interest close 24 April 2026
This program provides funding to improve security at Muslim faith based places and facilities across Australia. Funding supports safety infrastructure, training and security planning to reduce the risk of targeted attacks and strengthen community resilience. The program focuses on protecting facilities used for worship, education and community activities.
Key Requirements
- Projects must improve the physical safety or security of eligible Muslim community facilities
- Activities must respond to potential security threats or risks
- Applications must demonstrate a genuine need for security upgrades
- Works must align with eligible activities outlined in the program guidelines
What is eligible for funding?
- Physical safety infrastructure such as CCTV systems, fencing, access control systems, gates, lighting and alarms
- Educational workshops supporting community organisations to recognise and respond to security threats
- Security planning and risk assessment activities
What companies are eligible for funding?
Applications must be submitted by an existing Australian Muslim based not-for-profit organisation registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission, or otherwise able to be demonstrated as not-for-profit. Applicants must have legal authority over the nominated facility and be responsible for its operation, ownership or lease arrangements.
Is this grant competitive or entitlement based?
Competitive. Your application will be assessed among other applications by a judging panel.
