The Multicultural Community Fund (MCF) supports infrastructure projects that expand and improve facilities used by South Australia’s multicultural communities. Its aim is to create accessible, inclusive and welcoming community places across the state where people can connect and celebrate culture. Priority is given to projects that address demonstrated community need and strengthen connections for communities most in need of support
Key Requirements
- Create inclusive, welcoming community facilities Projects should deliver accessible places that foster participation and cultural celebration for multicultural communities across South Australia.
- Expand and improve community infrastructure The fund targets capital works that significantly upgrade, redevelop, extend, or newly construct community facilities serving culturally and linguistically diverse communities.
- Support owned and secured outdoor community spaces Proposals can include the development or upgrade of owned, secured outdoor cultural or community areas that enable safe gathering and cultural expression.
- Prioritise demonstrated community need Funding prioritises applicants who show their project will build and strengthen community connections, especially for communities most in need
What is eligible for funding?
- New builds – constructing new community facilities.
- Upgrades and extensions – major renovations, redevelopments or extensions to existing community facilities.
- Outdoor spaces – developing or upgrading owned and secured outdoor community or cultural spaces.
What companies are eligible for funding?
Eligible entities:
- Local councils.
- Incorporated not‑for‑profit multicultural community organisations.
- Australian public companies limited by guarantee whose primary purpose is supporting multicultural communities
To be eligible, applicants must:
• Be based in South Australia
• Hold an Australian Business Number (ABN), and
• Have a bank account held in the organisation’s name.
Is this grant competitive or entitlement based?
Competitive. Your application will be assessed among other applications by a judging panel.
How can I increase my chances of winning this grant?

- End-to-end grant application including information collating, analysis and application writing
- CAPEX (Capital Expenditure) cost-benefit analysis
- Stakeholder relations and Risk Mitigation Plans
- Any other relevant forecasting that will support your application
