The Aboriginal Investment NT Business Growth Grants program supports Aboriginal-owned businesses in the Northern Territory to scale and mature their operations. With a funding cap of $150,000 per applicant, the program aims to increase the size, diversity, and sustainability of Aboriginal businesses while creating employment opportunities for Aboriginal Territorians.

This initiative is designed to help businesses implement growth strategies, diversify revenue streams, and strengthen governance and risk management processes.

What is eligible for funding?

Funding can cover property, plant and equipment, fit-out costs, capped wages, insurances, professional services (up to 10%), and trading stock (50% co-contribution required).

What companies are eligible for funding?

  • Must be a corporation, sole trader, or partnership registered in NT.
  • Hold a valid ABN.
  • At least 51% Aboriginal ownership and active involvement.
  • Trading for at least 12 months.
  • Must be solvent and compliant with laws and regulations.

The program operates on a non-competitive basis, meaning applications are assessed individually against eligibility and selection criteria and awarded on a first-come, first-served basis until the annual funding pool of $7.5 million is exhausted.
