WA Local Battery Manufacturing Program: Production-Ready
- Grant application open until 30 January 2026.
- Up to $100,000 per application on a matched funding basis (i.e. 50% co-contribution required).
The Local Battery Manufacturing Program: Production-Ready Funding Stream is designed to help businesses carry out essential pre-production activities that pave the way for large-scale battery and component manufacturing in Western Australia. This initiative plays a vital role in strengthening the state’s position in the battery energy storage sector and supporting the growth of a competitive local industry. The program’s objectives are to enhance capacity, capability and competitiveness within the battery energy storage supply chain, reduce barriers to entry for established battery markets and supply chains, and lower the commercial risks and uncertainties often associated with pre-production manufacturing activities. Through these efforts, the expected outcomes include a significant increase in local manufacturing of batteries and components, greater participation in battery energy storage supply chains, and the development of a stronger, more competitive battery industry in Western Australia.
