The SA Powering Business Grants provide $20 million in funding to help small to medium enterprises (SMEs) and not-for-profits improve energy efficiency, lower operating costs, and invest in cleaner technologies. Grants range from $2,500 to $75,000.
Key Requirements
To be eligible, applicants must meet certain criteria to ensure projects deliver measurable energy and emissions reductions. This includes:
- Applicants must be located and operating in South Australia
- Projects must reduce energy consumption or emissions
- Grant funding must be used for eligible energy efficiency or sustainability upgrades
- Projects must be completed within the specified grant timeline
- A co-contribution may be required depending on project size and type
What is eligible for funding?
A wide range of clean energy and energy efficiency upgrades are eligible under the program.
Eligible expenditure includes:
- Energy efficiency upgrades (e.g. LED lighting, insulation, HVAC systems)
- Solar PV and battery storage
- Electrification of processes or machinery
- Smart energy monitoring systems
- Equipment or process upgrades that cut emissions
What companies are eligible for funding?
Eligible applicants include:
- South Australian SMEs
- South Australian not-for-profit organisations
- Applicants must have an ABN and operate at a commercial premises
- Priority may be given to high energy users or businesses in emissions-intensive sectors
Is this grant competitive or entitlement based?
Competitive. Your application will be assessed among other applications by a judging panel.
