TAS Event Attraction Fund 2025

  • Tasmanian-based event grant, however interstate event organisers can apply, as long as the event will be held in Tasmania
  • Grants up to $750,000 per event, 60% minimum co-contribution required
  • Events must be held between March and November in either 2025, 2026 or 2027
  • Applications open until May 31st 2027, or until funding has been allocated, whichever occurs first

The 2025 Event Attraction Fund aims to secure mass participation events which will deliver strong levels of interstate visitation and substantial economic and social benefits for Tasmania during the shoulder and winter month (March-November).

The fund provides grants up to $750,000, depending on visitor numbers and event location.

Key Requirements

Eligibility

Applicants will be required to meet the following eligibility criteria as part of the Stage One process:

  • must apply under Stage One at least four months (16 weeks) prior to event commencement
  • must hold an event between March and November in either 2025, 2026 or 2027
  • must be able to contribute at least 60 per cent of the overall event income budget.
  • Events taking place outside Greater Hobart* may be eligible for additional funding of between 10 and 20 per cent

*Greater Hobart refers to the Hobart, Clarence, Glenorchy and Kingborough local government areas.

What is eligible for funding?

Applicants should use the information in the table below as a guide as to the grant funding they may be eligible for:

Over 950 $750,000 10 per cent

All expenditure relating to the staging and the promotion of the event being funded, except for expenditures listed below.

Ineligible expenditure

  • Purchase of equipment, activities and/or services, which are not solely for the purpose of producing and delivering this event
  • Infrastructure purchases
  • Funding for activities that will commence before the funding is approved. Funding will not be provided retrospectively
  • Fines and penalty payments
  • Debt or loans
  • Legal fees

Ineligible applicants/applications

  • Events held in December, January and February
  • Events Tasmania does not support
    • conferences
    • conventions
    • symposiums
    • trade fairs
    • expos
    • concert series
    • touring acts or shows

Tasmanian organised music or arts events may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

What companies are eligible for funding?

  • Applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria
  • Be registered for tax purposes in Australia with a continuously active Australian Business Number (ABN) on or before 30 June 2024
  • Hold Public Liability Insurance or be able to obtain Public Liability Insurance to the value of $20 million
  • Must apply under Stage one at least four months (16 weeks) prior to the event commencement date
  • Hold an event between March and November (inclusive) in Tasmania
  • Be able to contribute at least 60 per cent of the overall income budget

Is this grant competitive or entitlement based?

Competitive. Your application will be assessed among other applications by a judging panel.
