July marks the start of the new financial year, FY26. This is an exciting time in the government grants and incentives world, as it’s typically when governments will announce new grant programs.
This month Western Australia is a stand-out with the relaunch of the WA Local Capability Fund.
The Local Capability Fund (LCF) helps Western Australian SMEs increase their capability, capacity and competitiveness. There are five distinct streams servicing a broad range of businesses, with grants up to $50,000 available. If you’re a Western Australian SME, see below for further information about each stream and eligibility requirements.
On the other hand, a new financial year can also mean government grants announced during the previous financial year will close to new applications. Therefore if there’s a grant that was announced last financial year, it’s worth checking the application deadline to determine if it’s closing soon.
