The Youth Advocacy and Support Grant supports organisations with strong youth-sector relationships to act as a trusted intermediary between young people and the Australian Government. The grant enables young people aged 12–25 to contribute meaningfully to national policy and decision‑making through evidence‑based youth engagement and advisory mechanisms.
Key Requirements
- Applications must align with the Youth Engagement Model led by the Office for Youth.
- Applicants must demonstrate strong, credible relationships across the youth sector, including with diverse and under‑represented cohorts.
- Applicants must be capable of delivering safe, ethical and inclusive youth participation.
- A single organisation or a consortium with a nominated lead organisation may apply.
- Successful applicants must meet safeguarding, governance and reporting requirements.
What is eligible for funding?
- Generating youth insights informed by lived experience, data and sector knowledge
- Monitoring trends and emerging issues affecting young people
- Synthesising insights into accessible, policy‑relevant advice
- Leveraging youth‑sector networks to gather rapid and representative input
- Establishing, managing and facilitating the Youth Steering Committee
- Recruiting and supporting a diverse group of young people aged 12–25
- Coordinating meetings, secretariat functions and honorarium payments
- Delivering safeguarding, wellbeing and leadership development support
What companies are eligible for funding?
- Have an Australian Business Number (ABN)
- Be registered for GST
- Be located in Australia and hold an Australian bank account
- Companies incorporated in Australia (including companies limited by guarantee)
- Incorporated associations or trustees
- Partnerships
- Registered charities or not‑for‑profit organisations
- Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander corporations
- Joint (consortia) applications with a lead organisation
Is this grant competitive or entitlement based?
Competitive. Your application will be assessed among other applications by a judging panel.
How can I increase my chances of winning this grant?
