Energy Efficiency Grants for Small and Medium Sized Enterprises

The National Energy Efficiency Grants by the Australian Government offer small and medium-sized enterprises with 100% of eligible project expenditure up to $25,000, to upgrade existing equipment to improve energy efficiency and reduce costs.
Key Requirements
To apply, you must:
- address all eligibility criteria
- provide all the information requested
- include all necessary attachments
- trust deed (where applicable)
- the owner’s authority to conduct the project at the nominated site(s) with evidence
- complete and submit your application
What is eligible for funding?
The eligible project must:
- this grant excludes the installation of solar panels
- be focused on decreasing the energy consumption of your business in Australia
- have at least $10,000 in eligible expenditure
- include one or more of the activities in the following focused areas:
- Energy audits and energy management
- Energy monitoring
- Power supply
- Lighting
- Heat Pumps
- Process automation and controls
- Reconfigure/ Optimise Processes
- Upgrades to motors, including compressors, pumps, fans, conveyors, mixers and blowers
- Building fabric upgrades
- Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC)
- Commercial refrigeration
- Compressed Air Improvements
- Water Heating
- Other process heating, cooling, drying and pumping improvements
What companies are eligible for funding?
The eligible business must have an Australian Business Number (ABN) and be one of the following entity types:
- an entity incorporated in Australia
- a partnership
- a sole trader.
The application can only be accepted from small and medium sized businesses with an employee headcount from 1 to 199 employees averaged over any consecutive 12 month period since 1 July 2019. If the entity is not the owner of the project location, entities must have consent from the owner of the project location to undertake the project.
Is this grant competitive or entitlement based?
Competitive. Your application will be assessed among other applications by a judging panel.
