South Australian Venture Capital Fund (SAVC)

  • Funding is available for local early-stage entrepreneurs and companies to stimulate economic activity and job creation.
  • For a limited time, a portion of the SAVC Fund is available for Seed stage investments of up to $400,000 per company.

The $50 million South Australian Venture Capital Fund (SAVCF) is available to help build dynamic and innovative early-stage companies to accelerate their growth to a national and global scale.

Key Requirements

Investment is available to high growth and export potential companies that have demonstrated a market for their product or service.

The SA venture capital fund aims to:

  • enable innovative South Australian ventures to secure funding and accelerate growth into national and global markets, stimulating economic activity and job creation
  • strengthen the competitiveness of local early-stage entrepreneurs and companies to attract private sources of co-investment from national and international investors
  • earn a commercial rate of return for investors, including the South Australian Government, and commensurate with industry standards for early-stage venture capital funds.

  • Cybersecurity

  • Agrifood

  • Health and Medtech

What companies are eligible for funding?

SA entrepreneurs and companies.

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • be able to demonstrate a market for their product or service
  • have either commenced generating revenue or can demonstrate customer validation and evidence a route to revenue generation
  • hold less than $250 million in assets
  • not be a publicly listed company, unless that company will be delisted within 12 months of the investment being made
  • have 50% of their assets and 50% of their staff located within SA during a period that ends 12 months from the initial investment date.

Is this grant competitive or entitlement based?

Competitive. Your application will be assessed among other applications by a judging panel.
