The Infrastructure for Multicultural Communities Grant Program supports the construction, upgrade or extension of infrastructure that enables multicultural communities to connect, gather and participate in community life. Delivered under the Australian Government’s Modernised Multicultural Grants Program, the initiative targets organisations that support culturally and linguistically diverse communities, particularly new and emerging communities facing barriers to accessing infrastructure. Funding is available across three streams, ranging from small amenity upgrades through to large-scale community infrastructure projects. The program prioritises projects that improve equity, inclusion and social cohesion, with particular focus on multicultural women, LGBTIQA+ communities and people with disability. Grants are delivered through a competitive process and require confirmed cash co‑contributions.
Key Requirements
- Support community infrastructure delivery Projects must deliver physical infrastructure that enables multicultural communities to connect and commune safely in a dedicated environment.
- Demonstrate community benefit and need Applicants must clearly identify the community need and demonstrate benefits to multicultural communities and, where relevant, the wider Australian community.
- Provide matched cash funding Applicants must provide confirmed cash co‑contributions at the required minimum percentage for their stream and applicant type.
