Business Events Australia Advance Program

Funding starts at a minimum of $20,000

The Advance Program seeks innovative projects that can sway key decision-makers to choose Australia for upcoming international business events, or convert initial interest into confirmed events hosted here. The program supports initiatives that aim to boost international attendance at existing business events in Australia.

The minimum funding for the program is set at $20,000 and applicants must be able to demonstrate a matched financial input.

Applications are currently open and will run through to 5 July 2024, with successful applicants to be announced on 9 August 2024.

Key Requirements

Projects must centre around attracting international participants to Australia for corporate meetings, incentive programs, conferences, exhibitions, or association meetings.

Applications will be assessed in line with the mandatory eligibility criteria to verify that activities:

Have a minimum funding need of $20,000
Correspond with Tourism Australia’s business events strategy
Attract key international decision-makers and secure new international business events for Australia
Could bring new international visitors to Australia for business events
Demonstrate a dollar-for-dollar financial match from the applicant. Contributions of goods or services (in-kind) cannot be used for matching purposes
Are carried out in the 2024/2025 financial year
Are complete by 30 June 2025

What is eligible for funding?

The program will fund the following businesses activities:

Develop unique and strategic campaigns to increase international delegate attendance at specific confirmed business events held in Australia
Targeted marketing and media buying
Client site inspections
In-market activations that influence potential delegates to choose Australia for their upcoming events or convert initial interest into confirmed events
In-market business development and distribution

What companies are eligible for funding?

To be eligible for funding the business must have a minimum of 12 months of experience in international business events.

Is this grant competitive or entitlement-based?

Competitive. Your application will be assessed among other applications by a judging panel.

How can I increase my chances of winning this grant?

By engaging an accredited government grants consultant, such as Avant Group.

Competitive grants often require significant business case development and project analysis to support the application, this may include detailed presentations supporting the project’s merit, projected sales, cost-benefit analysis and more.

Grant application writeup including a detailed presentation illustrating how the grant funding will contribute to your project, how the funding will contribute to the project’s budget, a project milestone plan, delivery timeline, impact on employment if applicable and a breakdown of the management and leadership team for the project
