  • Funding amount: Minimum $80,000 (excluding GST)
  • Funding term: 2 years, with a potential additional 1-year option period
  • Funding payments: Six-monthly instalments, subject to reporting requirements

The Caravan Skills Based Education and Training Grants program supports organisations and businesses that improve the safe use of caravans on Queensland roads. Funding is available to establish new or expand existing caravan education and practical training programs that increase participation and improve caravan safety knowledge across Queensland.

Key Requirements

  • Applications must support initiatives that improve caravan safety on Queensland roads.
  • Applicants must hold an active ABN and a bank account in the applicant’s name.
  • Grant proposals must demonstrate alignment with program objectives.
  • Programs should be developed and delivered by appropriately qualified and experienced personnel.
  • Applicants must submit a detailed 12‑month budget.
  • Applicants must demonstrate value for money, impact, reach and outcome measurement.

What is eligible for funding?

Eligible activities include:

  • In-person practical skills training
  • Educational workshops and seminars with practical demonstrations
  • Online courses and training modules
  • Development of educational materials, including:
    • Online resources
    • Video guides
    • Consumer guidance materials
    • Educational tools
    • Brochures

Eligible training topics include:

  • Understanding towing risks
  • Tow vehicle suitability
  • Weights and towing calculations
  • Load distribution and securing loads
  • Safe towing techniques and behaviours
  • Caravan safety compliance requirements including braking, chains, mirrors, lighting, dimensions and projections

What companies are eligible for funding?

Eligible applicants include:

  • For-profit organisations incorporated or registered under an Act of Parliament
  • Not-for-profit organisations incorporated or registered under an Act of Parliament
  • Government entities

Applicants must:

  • Hold an active ABN
  • Hold a bank account in the applicant’s name

Is this grant competitive or entitlement based?

Competitive. Your application will be assessed among other applications by a judging panel.

How can I increase my chances of winning this grant?

  • Stakeholder relations and Risk Mitigation Plans
  • Any other relevant forecasting that will support your application
