The Victorian Government’s 2026–27 Men’s Shed Funding Program provides grants to support the construction, refurbishment, extension or upgrade of men’s sheds in Victoria, as well as the purchase of major shed equipment.
The program aims to strengthen social connection, reduce isolation, and improve health and wellbeing outcomes for men by supporting safe, accessible places where men can work on meaningful projects and engage with their community.
Key Requirements

- Meet eligibility criteria: The project must be for a shed located in Victoria, meet the definition of a men’s shed, show community need aligned to the grant amount, include universal design/disability access principles, and have no outstanding reports from prior Men’s Shed Funding Program grants.
- Provide co-contribution: A 20% co-contribution is required, with at most half as in-kind and the remainder as cash confirmed in writing; evidence must be provided.
- Project readiness for larger grants: If applying for $10,000 or more, applicants must show security of tenure (5+ years lease/licence or ownership), provide a relevant strategic plan, and provide detailed design plans appropriate to the project complexity (including planning/building permit awareness).
